Being in the top of the search results page can certainly increase your visibility, authority in the industry, and quickly recoup your investment.

Why isn't your site still on top?

Sooner or later, this question was asked by almost every company. Unfortunately, there is no clear answer to it.

Better said, there is no clear answer to it.

There are many reasons why your website may not be placed. If you think an eternity has passed and you still don't see a positive result, consider these options:

Give it more time

The video below from Google Webmaster encourages you to work with SEO (Search Engine Optimization) Patient.

Nothing can be accelerated with SEO. Miracles do not happen from day to day.

You have to go through certain steps - and that's fine. (It's useless to create thousands of links to a website that can't handle so many clicks.)

It takes a while to get enough information, create and implement your strategy, and start creating content.

Then it takes a long time for Google to notice your changes at all. Then you have to wait for the search engine to decide if these changes will be of any benefit to the user.

We have used the above video several times, but we will be happy to confirm the correctness of our statements whenever possible.

The video mentions that it usually takes four months to a year for the changes to take effect at all and for you to notice any results.

In other words, you have to wait. It's not easy, but SEO requires patience.

TIP: The results are based on competition in the segment.

Your keywords don't mean what you think

We will try to describe our experience with the term "SEO".

Of course, the keyword 'SEO' is important to our website. At one time, you would not be able to find our homepage by searching for this term. We didn't do anything to make our site missing from the search results, but it still disappeared.

That's when we started researching the search results page, which appeared after searching for "SEO."

Our website has long been on the second page of results and sometimes appeared in 10th place. And then she disappeared.

However, our website still existed.

On the first page of search results, you may notice that Google assumes that users searching for this term are not looking for companies that focus on SEO.

Instead, they try to provide as much information as possible about what SEO is and how it is done.

Therefore, almost every result on the first page is focused on SEO instructions, their explanation and whether you need it at all (we do not take paid results into account).

Google alone occupies at least two places on the first page of search results.

For a while, we thought it was simply impossible to get our website to the first page of a search. Our website was not what Google thought was a good result after entering the term "SEO" into search.

(Of course, Google started showing our page again, but at one time we were the only ones on the first page SEO agency.)

You can try to get your website to the top of the search results for a keyword, and even though you have excellent SEO, you may not be able to do it. This is because for Google, a search term can mean something completely different from it to you.

Carefully study the first page of search results to see if the type of results Google wants to show is different from what you want it to provide.

Your website looks amazing, but maybe just to the eye

You have paid a lot of money for a beautifully designed and modern website. Everything looks great. You can't get enough of her every day.

Why can't Google appreciate it too?

It's possible that your site looks good, but you haven't taken much into account SEO.

There are many things that can hold you back, such as:

  • Duplicate content
  • Insufficient content
  • Old, untouched, worn-out content
  • Confusing navigation
  • Split keyword focus, so there are multiple pages that can appear for a given keyword
  • Blank basic information, such as title, keywords, description (metas); image tags (alt tags); schema markups
  • You are missing a blog or something else that allows you to refresh your content on a regular basis

The web didn't notice you

The links are important and probably still will be. While there are many ways to get them, some are not worth it and others can be harmful.

You need a quality portfolio with links from various sources. Some should be no-follow links, some should point to very good sites and others to average sites.

Don't even think about buying links. Link Schemes (artificial creation of links, for promotional purposes only) are also out of the question. You need to find natural ways to get good links and avoid practices that Google could penalize you for.

Links can be part of other issues as well.

For example:

You have noticed the wrong part of the Internet

Someone may have started performing unethical tactics on your website.

They need no reason to do so. They simply select your website and put malicious code on it. Or they can start copying your blog and republishing your content. Or they will start linking various links to questionable pages.

Google can easily detect a negative SEO attack, and be careful if you want to avoid any sanctions.

This brings us to the next part:

Google may have placed you in the "Penalty Box"

Manual Action penalty (penalty after manual intervention) can lead to the removal of your website from the search results page.

If you were at the forefront of your search and then suddenly dropped (or disappeared altogether), Google may penalize you.

All you can do is check the Google Manual Actions report and start correcting your problems.

If you receive such a notification, it means that a reviewer has manually determined that your website does not comply with Google's instructions.

What can cause such an intervention? Google may penalize you if your reviewer finds that:

  • Your site has been compromised by hackers - someone has uploaded and hidden malicious content on your site
  • Users create spam - spam comments on forums and blogs
  • Freehosting is full of spam - a large part of the sites operated by the freehosting service is full of spam
  • Schema Markup - schema marking is full of spam, non-compliance with instructions (for example, hiding content from users)
  • Unnatural links to your site - if you have a lot of artificial, misleading or manipulative links (this includes buying links and Link Schemes)
  • Unnatural links from your site - same as in the previous point, but links from your site
  • Poor content with no value - Your website must provide users with some value
  • Cloaking and redirection - a technique in which other content is shown to search engines and other users in order to achieve higher positions in search results
  • Images - Manipulative use of images to obtain clicks
  • Hidden text and excessive keyword insertion - these problems have been around for a long time, but apparently Google still considers this a big problem

You treat your website as if it existed in a vacuum

SEO does not exist in a vacuum. He lives among his neighbors, such as content marketing, social media, PPC advertising and many others.

We do not try to force our services on you. We just want to point out that you have to look at online marketing as a whole and not just its parts.

The time you spend on a page, the number of clicks, the number of mentions on the Internet, and communication with social media are all factors that will affect your position in search results.

Some of them are more important than others, but all of them play an important role.

Google considers signals other than those that come from you.

We are not saying that frequent additions to Facebook are directly related to your position in search results. We're just trying to say that if you build your community on social media, you'll get more traffic to your site, get more clicks to your links, and more people read your content.

Plus, it's not all about a better search position.

Nowadays, the most likely reason why your site can't rank well is our last point:

Your competition is smarter

Again, you do not perform SEO in a vacuum.

Search engine optimization (SEO) is no longer a secret weapon that your competition has never heard of. It is an integral part of modern marketing. If you don't link and post blogs, you can be sure that your competition has been doing so for a long time.

If you start to think that you don't need SEO, or that you've already done enough, someone will definitely work harder than you and show you how to really do it.

If you use SEO less, after a while you will notice that it is starting to help you a bit. Anyone who is actively involved in SEO will definitely see much more results than you.

Remember that when you start working with SEO, you are not trying to win over Google, but over your competition. You are all trying to start a business in a very limited space.

Even small changes can mean something big

You're probably thinking that you still have a long way to go to get to the top of the search.

And you think well.

Therefore, you should start as soon as possible. You can start by making small and simple changes to your website before you even think about hiring it. SEO agency.

If you still can't place, give it some time.

Try to examine your current situation. Get started easily and make the changes you're capable of.

You'll be amazed at what small changes can do.
